24.2 - P3

Unit 24 Logo Design:
The people who are responsible for running and managing Unit 24 for IT Graphics have asked for a logo to be designed to represent the Unit and and what it contains. They have asked that the logo has the name Unit 24 shown boldy as that is the main focus for the logo, they have also asked that "digital graphics and computers" is shown somewhere on the logo front. The client also wanted an image present somewhere within the logo, an image which would have to be related to digital graphics or computers. The logo and text would have to be merged together to make the logo whole in this sense.

EnCert is a new company providing Energy Certificates to homeowners. 'Greener' houses are more desirable and the Energy Certificates form part of the Home Information Pack (HIP). All houses for sale with 4 bedrooms or more must have a HIP. (See the scheme of work for an example Home Information Pack) Encert require a logo for their website and letterheads. EnCert needs the logo to look professional and make the clients to associated it with energy (gas, electricity etc).

An organic mobile fast-food service has requested a roadside sign. It will be used on a stand so when its van is parked in a lay-by offering quality burgers and all-day breakfasts, passing motorists will notice it. This sign is to be in full colour and must be eye-catching .

ENCERT -

EnCert need a logo which can be used for there company, the logo will be used all around the company including such things as letterheads and their website. The logo needs to be presentable and suitible for all types of persons who sees it. It also must be associated with gas and electricity, so colouring may have to be taken seriously during the preperation. Wording needs to be plain, this logo will be used all over the company and will be representable for that fact.

2) The logo i will create will be simple but sharp, something which looks proffesional and well made but clean also at the same time. The logo will not be busy and will be plain but to the point. For a business it is important to make sure the logo is plain and simple but also eye catching as well, such shapes as ovals and rectangles will be used during the planning. Sqares will not be used, square logos are very hard to implement into things such as websites and letter heads due to the outstanding shape they are.

Blue and red will be the primary colours due to their nature to the gas, oil and electricity industry. Yellow may also be used although white maybe a better option to help keep the logo simple in colour and not to cheap looking.

UNIT 24

The people who are responsible for running and managing Unit 24 for IT Graphics have asked for a logo to be designed to represent the Unit and and what it contains. They have asked that the logo has the name Unit 24 shown boldy as that is the main focus for the logo, they have also asked that "digital graphics and computers" is shown somewhere on the logo front. The client also wanted an image present somewhere within the logo, an image which would have to be related to digital graphics or computers. The logo and text would have to be merged together to make the logo whole in this sense.

2) The logo will be simple and sharp but also eye catching. The logo will incorperate varied colours and a few different styles of text. the logo will include basic shapes including the base shape a rectangle. The text and the number 24 will both differ in size and style, the 24 will probably be alot more pretruded and will stand out more to symbalize more of a difference betwen Unit 24 and other units.

KSI PHARMACUTICALS

KSI Phamacuticals have asked for a brand new logo for their company. Their logo will be used on their website, their products and booklets or leaflets which are handed out to the public or other businesses. They have asked the logo to include green colours, as well as bold text which can be noticable by people from a distance. The logo must include the full company name "KSI Pharmacuticals"

2) The logo will stand out as requested, this will involve careful consideration of the fonts and colours used although the colour green has been notified as a favourite. Bold text will be used for the title of the logo which will include the full name of the company. Dark colours will be used also to make the logo stand out but not in a way that it will stand out to much from the current website or company colours.

Posters for Coffee Shop and BTEC IT course

Shown below are the two posters which i did, both based around two different subjects.

THE COFFEE SHOP
When making the poster I used several ways to make sure that everything on the poster was layout properly and neatly leaving no room for mess or error. The first thing I did was to do the title text, this took sometime but when included along with the mug of coffee beans on the right hand side it seemed to look good.
The text though at first after being typed seemed to clash a bit with the mug so I added a stroke with a the colour white on a 1pxl distance. This meant that the text would not clash with the mug but would still look good and neatly presentable. After this I decided to add some more images, I added the coffee beans shown to the bottom right along with the black board and the strawberries. The strawberries then had the white background removed by using the magic eraser tool which automatically removed the background with one click.
After I had arranged these images to my liking I added the background image of the women, this image was resized to fit the page. The coffee beans on the bottom right though at this stage looked to apparent so I faded the edges of the image by using the eraser tool on a large pixel ratio.
After this was done, I added several rectangle shapes so that text on the poster could be presented properly. The shapes were organised in a fashion of which would be suitable for the poster, along with a few of the shapes being decreased in opacity to make them between 50% -70.
After this I managed to enter some text onto the image which said a bit about what the college coffee shop was about, I then finally added some larger text which helped draw more attention the poster and help fill in empty spaces. All of the layers on the psd were arranged so that the image placement of each one looked good and didn’t look misplaced or awkward.
The womens face on the main background image was edited using the curves tool as well to change the lighting as well as the main working being done using the hue and saturation settings.
When using the images I used some images from the digital camera, whilst other images were found on an stock image website.
